GUEST LECTURER
Patricia Walls Stamm, CG(SM),CGL(SM),who is NGS Education Manager,
lives in St.Louis, Missouri after moving from her home state of Delaware. From the University of Missouri, she holds a degree in Management and Organizational
Behavior. In genealogy, she is an associate of the Board of Certification of
Genealogists and holds the credentials of Certified Genealogist and Certified
Genealogist Lecturer, as well as a tested concentration of Genealogical
Instruction.
Her multi-faceted business includes serving as a genealogical instructor for St. Louis Community College, Institute of Genealogy & Historical Research, and St. Louis
Genealogical Society, researching for clients, lecturing at both the local and national level, and writing for NGS NewsMagazine and APG Quarterly.

As we go through our home sources, it may suggest that we need to start our
search of military records. Learn about some basic techniques to military
research.

Newspapers contain obituaries. But newspapers can provide us so much more

Jan was National Conference Chair for the FGS/AGS 2009 National Conference held in Little Rock, 2-5 September 2009. She retired in 2001 from the Arkansas History Commission where she worked as a Library Technical Assistant. Jan is Past President of the Arkansas Genealogical Society, served on the AGS Board of Directors 1991-2010. After two years of concentrating on the FGS/AGS conference she is finally getting back to her own family history and trying her hand at blogging. She is a founding member and President of the Central Arkansas Genealogical & Historical Society. Jan is a native of Oklahoma, but moved to Arkansas as a teenager. She has enjoyed living in 13 states and Scotland before moving back to Arkansas in 1982, Husband Harold is retired from the Air Force and Union Pacific, they live in North Little Rock with Molly, their 13-year-old Yorkshire Terrier.
